JUDr. et Mgr. Lucie Kociánová, Ph.D., the founder of KOCIANOVA law firm – has been active in the field of law since 1995 when she graduated (summa cum laude, Mgr.) from the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague. In 2001 she finished her postgraduate study at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague and acquired Ph.D. and JUDr. in international law. After 10 years of practice in law offices in Prague (Sodomka & Souček, Korejzová a spol.), she formed KOCIANOVA Law Firm (2005), an intellectual property and commercial law focused law firm.

Lucie Kociánová is a Czech qualified advocate (2000) with extensive experience in advising Czech and international companies in intellectual property, including prosecution and litigation of IP rights, connected pharmaceutical law issues and general commercial matters. Mrs. Kociánová offers to her clients to solve any arising dispute via mediation as she is also a mediator registered with the Czech Bar and Department of Justice. In 1998 Mrs. Kociánová spent six months as a Senior Fellow with the Atlantic Council of the United States in Washington, D.C. where she was trained in international law, inclusive tasks on function of non-governmental organizations both US and international, therefore in her practice she also focuses on international law. She speaks Czech, English and Russian. She is a member of a Czech Bar (Member of the IP Committee of the Czech Bar), INTA and Czech national Board of EWLA (European Woman´s Lawyers Organization). She also act as lecturer for her clients.
